Yesterday I was having my normal day waking up at 6 o’clock, had my spiritual morning prayers, sipped my black Turkish coffee, chatted withmy mom about diets, her work, her current writing work, talked about politicswith my father, had a healthy breakfast, watched the morning Jazirah’s news, then head out to my favorite coffee house in Damascus wrote a post whilelistening to rock sipping my usual black French aromatic coffee… My normal dayduring my break… Everything on schedule living my life through the routine Iset to my self, content with the rest I surely earned after this long, long, long painful semester in Saudi Arabia. I was supposed to meet my NLP therapistat 7 pm and everything was going smooth as planned till he called and told me hewas busy and wouldn’t make it, that’s when I nearly panicked, what am Isupposed to do now?? Everyday I suffer to fill up my afternoon, I’m screwed (Idiscovered that graduating isn’t that great after all because there isliterarily nothing to do or worry about till especially if you’re waiting toget admitted…). Anyway when I was ready to give up and start watching TV whichI hate, Amr came to my rescue. He called me and said “Sinan Kafoo walla la’fe haflet Jazz ” Sinan are you ready or not there is a Jazz concert. Noweven thought I’m a hardcore rocker, that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy good music, and besides it’s not like I had much to do, so my natural response was “HELLYA!!”. So I head up to the civil engineering auditorium, met Amr there, sat onmy shrinking butt and started nodding my head to the music’s rhythm (a rocker’shabit… can’t be helped).

Anyway the Band who played was Mosaic, a local Jazzband, who played beautifully, and even though the audience was scarce and toodull the band was very enthusiastic. Unfortunately I only recall the bassplayer name who’s name is Khalid Omran. The national union of Syrian students, Golan students branchorganized the concert.
