لغة إذا وقعت على أسماعنا          كانت لنا برداَ على الأكباد
A language if weheard calmed us

ستظل رابطة تؤلف بيننا          فهي الرجاء لناطق بالضاد
A language which willalways connect us; it’s the salvation of every Arab

Whoever followed my blog for awhile now, must probably read the post I wrote about the birth of Young ArabReaders Club. And guess what? The club which started with 12 of my cousinsand under the soul supervision of my mom grew now to a 63-members-club with thesupervision of 6 ladies and a 20-something young man. Moreover the club’sweekly meeting that used to be held in the recreation room of my grandparent’sbuilding is now held in a rented private school.

The club’s program used to mainlyinclude introductory lectures the members used to give to their peers aboutbooks they recently read, now also includes visits to National Museums, public libraries, and orphanages, and plays the kids produce, direct and playin them too. The thing I like the most in the club is that there is no policyabout the topics or books the members can read, which is crucial to developopen minded youth in a very strict society like ours.

The club’s yearly fees are 2000S.P. only!! which is spent on purchasing books and renting transportation wherekids from all over Damascus attend the club’s meetings.

For further information about theclub and registration contact the chairman Dr.Lina Daboul.
