in one month, Abdelmou3een mallou7i dies, Abdelsalam 3ujaili dies, and Muhammad Al-Maghoot dies.. only Al-maghoot gets the appropriate mourning..

in the same period, a few years ago, Sa3dalla wannous dies along with Fate7 Al Mudarres in the same year.. Wannous gets a Roman God's farewell and gets labeled the savior of Arabic theatre, and Al mudarres gets forgotten as if he wasn't one of the most important / significant expressionist artists in the Arab world..

Moustafa Al Akkad dies and gets treated as a local hero (although he was less-than-average on the artistic level), while no one even knows that there is a movie called "Ta7t el Sakf" directed by Nidal El Dibs (which wasn't mind blowing anyhow, but it was selected official in several cinema festivals all over the world.. and that is worth mentioning, right?)

I guess I am finally able to say: I will never understand Syrians.. not that I am taking myself out of the equation or anything.. I am just plainly confused as to what standards do we use when we select to glorify someone and forget everyone else..

but I guess glory is not necessarily attributed to a person's abilities...
I want to start rambling about the usual secular conspiracy theory.. but I will just keep my mouth shut instead.. they're gone anyway, so who cares?
