Thanks everyone for their lovely, lovely comments on my blog. I haven't tried the coffee suggestion yet but I will do soon. :D

It's good to be back and reliving memories of Syria.

What's the best way to make Turkish coffee? Mine always sucks big time and tastes vile.

I use cold water and a heaped spoon of coffee per person and boil it twice before serving.

Hurrah! I'd lost my password and have only just been able to get it back so sorry to everyone waiting for updates.
I'm back in the UK now and waiting for uni to start in the beginning of October but I'll blog about my friend's and my escapades up until the end of my stay in Syria.

I've been feeling a little sure of myself, a little cocky maybe: thinking that maybe this Arabic thing isn't too bad, being able to understand people in the street and being able to make myself understood.

So I thought that a little ritual humiliation would be just the thing, just bring me down a peg or two and teach myself some humility.
